spent several hours working on a low poly tutorial on the weekend...didn't end up doing ALL the steps but close enough. It was time consuming but a good tutorial that's easy to follow.

I found this tutorial and created some icicles but I don't think they look quite right (like the icicles in the tutorial). but I tried......
Thursday Feb 12 tutorial
I did this tutorial so I could help one of my students who was struggling with it. I found out why he was struggling with it.... first he works too quickly (looking for instant gratification I think) and he's using a newer version of Ps so some of the commands have changed. I'll be able to clarify it for him next week.

Section 4 says to clip two layers together this way:
Clip this layer with the layer underneath by pressing Ctrl + G (Command + G on the Mac) or Ctrl + Alt + G(Command + Option + G on the Mac) if you use Photoshop CS2.
This won't work in newer verisons of Ps. Instead, hold the alt key and click between the two layers you want to clip together.

Firday 13 tutorial
this was a fairly easy tutorial to follow although section 9 didn't include specifications for the settings so I set my own. Also I think the glove and eye patch could be better. Overall I'm happy with it and learned a good deal about compositing and creating a coherent image from several individual elements.
